Are you considering a relocation? Here are three tips to help you with your childcare search.
The lack of childcare resources when considering a move can squelch even the most potentially lucrative job offer.
Have you ever been offered a position cross-country or even across the state and due to your familial obligations, specifically childcare, have had to turn it down? I have. Seven years ago I was considering a relocation to Pennsylvannia that my husband had been offered. We lived in Schaumburg Illinois at the
time, close to family and friends.
I was dependent on a combination of family assistance and employer sponsored childcare and could not not fathom such a move. The potential relocation did not seem feasible and wasn't considered past the initial mention.
Had a professional real estate agent been introduced in this early stage I might have sung a different tune. A real estate agent has market knowledge, which translates into community information. I have since learned that a real estate agent can be a valuable asset in the process of seeking childcare and school resources.
