In many areas around the country, we have seen a dramatic decline in pending home sales. The National Association of REALTORS has recently released an index for pending sales of existing homes. The results indicate a 12.2% decrease in pending home sales from June 2007 to July 2007. They also show a 16% decrease in pending home sales from July of 2007.
Let's say that your agent has exhausted all marketing avenues, but the market is just plain tough. It is 3-4 months down the road from the time you first listed this property, and you have not had one buyer, but you have had some potential lookers. All you know right now is that you need to get this property moving. At the very least, you need a way to generate income to get the mortgage on the home paid. You have revisited the list price with your real estate agent and are not willing to rock bottom your price to make either of these two scenarios happen.
